Magda Huelle graduated from Ludwig-Maximilian-University in Munich/Germany in 1993 and fell in love with eyes in all their beauty in the last 2 years of the course, which came as a surprise as the ophthalmology professor was horrible and she originally really only wanted to treat horses anyway! She moved to the UK in 1996 and whilst working in general small animal practice in South Wales she decided to take things one level up and gained her certificate in Veterinary Ophthalmology in 2003. Magda remained in general first opinion practice for several years after that, juggling work, a young family, and an assortment of cats. After a few years in sunny Australia the pull of the green valleys became irresistible and she returned to South Wales to work in a busy small animal hospital in Bridgend as a general practitioner and 'resident eye person'.
