Vet Page Surgical Guarantee Wording

If there is post-surgical complication that requires medical or surgical treatment, Rowe Referrals will undertake that treatment without any additional cost to the client.

At Rowe Referrals, we believe that post-operative care is a partnership between owner and vets. We know that owners want the quickest and easiest recovery for their pet, and this often means following instructions about exercise or applying lots of eye drops. We very much hope these will be followed but know that mistakes and accidents can happen and we are here to help resolve any problems that crop up. We appreciate everyone is busy these days, but if a re-examination is suggested it is important that they are attended.

The guarantee is available on the following procedures:

  • Cataract surgery
  • Corneo-conjunctival Transposition (CCT)
  • Spinal surgery for intervertebral disc extrusion/protrusion*
  • TPLO
  • Total Hip Replacement

Unrelated problems arising during the covered period, and any complications that arise beyond the agreement period are not covered.

Complication or outcome?

For many complex procedures no-one can guarantee a successful outcome and a ‘less than expected’ outcome does not mean that there is a complication. We will always make the owner aware of the expected outcome possibilities of any procedure. It is normal following some procedures to require ongoing medication, for example ongoing pain relief following surgery on a very arthritic joint. This would not be considered a complication and will not be covered. For example, with cataract surgery it is normal for there to be ongoing medication for example to manage high intraocular pressures, intraocular inflammation or low tear production. These ongoing medications are not included in the guarantee. However, should we need to perform any additional procedures following cataract surgery on an eye, these will be covered.

If your client has any concerns, please let us know as soon as possible. We are here to answer their questions, no matter how small!

Procedures are only guaranteed when the original surgical procedure invoice is paid, or an insurance claim has been submitted.

We cannot accept responsibility for the cost of treatment at other vets or elsewhere and it is the owner’s responsibility to transport their pet to us.

We reserve the right to discontinue our surgical complication guarantee at any time, for any reason and without notice.

* Guarantee does not include disc extrusion/protrusion at different sites
