Whether your pet is experiencing symptoms such as coughing, exhaustion, or fainting spells, a visit to see a cardiologist can help pinpoint the issue and come up with an individualised plan to help to treat them.

Should you feel your pet needs to be referred to a cardiologist, please speak to your regular vet. Alternatively, if your pet has already been referred to Rowe Referrals, please contact us via 01454 521000 should you have any questions.

Oncology / Electrochemotherapy

We offer traditional treatments for pets with cancer, such as surgery, chemotherapy and electrochemotherapy.

Electrochemotherapy involves using electrical pulses to help chemo drugs penetrate cancer cells more effectively. Essentially, it supercharges standard chemotherapy and makes it more potent in targeting and destroying tumours in pets. What is great about this treatment is that it not only improves the efficacy of chemotherapy but also reduces its side effects. With this advanced technology available at Rowe Referrals, we are well-equipped to provide this treatment to pets.

Should you wish to learn more about oncology and electrochemotherapy, please speak to your regular vet. Alternatively, if your pet has already been referred to Rowe Referrals, please contact us via 01454 521000 should you have any questions.

Ophthalmology

Just like humans, pets can develop eye conditions and injuries that require expert care. Our ophthalmology service is dedicated to diagnosing and treating eye problems in pets ensuring your pet's vision and overall eye health remain in good health. From cataracts and glaucoma to eyelid and surface problems, our ophthalmologists have the expertise and tools to provide thorough treatment plans tailored to your pet's specific needs.

If you suspect your pet's eyesight may be affected, please speak to your regular vet who may choose to refer your pet for further investigations. Alternatively, if your pet has already been referred to Rowe Referrals, please contact us via 01454 521000 should you have any questions.

Soft Tissue Surgery

Whether it is a routine procedure such as spaying or neutering, or a more complex surgery such as a tumour removal or bladder stone removal, soft tissue surgery can help with a wide range of issues.

Soft tissue surgery is a general term used to describe most surgery that doesn’t involve bones. This might be surgery on the organs in the abdomen or chest, skin tumour removal or wound repair.

Dentistry

Dental hygiene and care for all pets is important. Just like humans need regular visits to the dentist, so do pets. Our team helps to keep your pet's teeth and gums healthy, preventing issues like bad breath, tooth decay, and gum disease. As well as cleaning and extractions, our team are able to perform complex procedures such as root canal treatment, dental crowns and oral surgeries if needed.

Should you feel your pet would benefit from our dentistry services, please speak to your regular vet who may choose to refer your pet for treatment at Rowe Referrals. Laparoscopy

Laparoscopy otherwise known as ‘keyhole’ surgery uses tiny cameras and instruments to operate on pets with just a few small holes rather than a large incision.

There are several benefits to laparoscopy surgery including minimal scarring, shorter recovery time and often, it is done on an outpatient basis.

Should you feel your pet would benefit from our laparoscopy service, please speak to your regular vet who may choose to refer your pet for treatment at Rowe Referrals. Alternatively, if your pet has already been referred to Rowe Referrals, please contact us via 01454 521000 should you have any questions.

CT Scanning

CT (Computer Tomography) scans use x-rays to create detailed images of your pet, helping vets to diagnose issues such as fractures, tumours, or internal injuries.

The images produced allow the team to assess a situation and gather as much information as possible before they decide on the next steps. The scan is quick and painless for your pet and will help the team to make informed decisions on the best treatment options for your pet.

Should you feel your pet would benefit from a CT scan, you would need to speak to your regular vet who would then make a referral to access the service. Alternatively, if your pet has already been referred to Rowe Referrals, please contact us via 01454 521000 should you have any questions.

MRI

Pets can benefit from advanced medical imaging techniques such as MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) scans. This non-invasive procedure can provide detailed images of internal organs, bones, and soft tissues to help diagnose problems like tumours, injuries, or neurological disorders in pets.

By using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), vets can get a closer look at what is going on inside your pet's body without the need for surgery. This means quicker diagnoses and more targeted treatment plans for pets.

Should you feel your pet would benefit from an MRI scan, you would need to speak to your regular vet who would then make a referral to access the MRI service at Rowe Referrals. Alternatively, if your pet has already been referred to Rowe Referrals, please contact us via 01454 521000 should you have any questions.

Ultrasonography

Ultrasonography is a non-invasive imaging technique that uses high-frequency sound waves to create real-time images of your pet's internal organs and tissues. This technology allows vets to diagnose a wide range of conditions, from bladder stones to tumours, without the need for surgery. Plus, it is safe for pets of all ages and breeds.

Very often ultrasonography can be performed on conscious or under light sedation alone. Biopsies and samples can very often be taken under ultrasound guidance at the time of the examination.

Should you feel your pet would benefit from an ultrasound scan, you would need to speak to your regular vet who would then make a referral to access the ultasonography service at Rowe Referrals. Alternatively, if your pet has already been referred to Rowe Referrals, please contact us via 01454 521000 should you have any questions.

Radioactive Iodine Therapy

Radioactive iodine therapy is an effective way to treat hyperthyroidism in cats which is a common condition. The therapy involves giving your cat a small dose of radioactive iodine that targets and destroys the overactive thyroid cells without causing any harm to the rest of their body. It is considered one of the best long-term treatments for hyperthyroidism in cats because it has a high success rate and minimal side effects. Overall, radioactive iodine therapy can improve your pet's quality of life.

Should you feel your cat would benefit from radioactive iodine therapy, please speak to your regular vet who may wish to refer your pet for treatment.

Alternatively, if your pet has already been referred to Rowe Referrals, please contact us via 01454 521000 should you have any questions.

Behaviour

Rowe Referrals is proud to offer behaviour consultations. Behavioural problems are becoming an increasing concern across the animal industry. At Rowe, we understand how important behaviour concerns are, and the impact this has on both the owner and the pet. We are here to offer the time, care and knowledge needed to support both the animal and their owners, to help manage the problems and see results.

This service is run by Elea Baker BSc (Hons) PgDip CAB NCert (Surgical) RVN, working under supervision of Ali Scott BSc (Hons) PgDip CABC ABTC-CAB CCAB.
