Margaret Costello

Mags is a graduate of University College Dublin. After a period of time in mixed general practice and small animal practice she realised her ultimate dream of becoming a veterinary radiologist. She spent 4 years at the University of Bristol as an intern followed by a Residency in Diagnostic Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging obtaining both the RCVS Diploma in Radiology and the European Diploma in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging.

After finishing her residency she founded a peripatetic ultrasound service serving the southwest of England. In addition she has been as a visiting lecturer at the University of Liverpool and for several years had a part time lecturing role at the University of Bristol.

Her major interests include abdominal and thoracic ultrasound and CT as well as musculoskeletal ultrasound.

Mags is passionate about helping referral vets advance their difficult cases with high quality imaging. She uses a brand new GE Vivid iq Premium with 6 ultrasound probes including a very high definition linear probe (up to 18MHz) so that all sizes and shapes of animal are catered for.

She also works part time for a teleradiology service.

Mags lives with her family comprising of 3 busy children, 2 dogs, a hive of honey bees and an equine vet!

Her hobbies include running, skiing, cooking and amateur bee keeping as well as visiting her community owned village pub of which she is a founding director.
