Elea Baker BSc (Hons) PgDip CAB NCert (Surgical) RVN Veterinary Nurse

Elea has been with Rowe since 2019, starting as a Student Veterinary Nurse, and qualifying in 2020. Elea is now the Deputy Head Nurse of our Yate branch.

Whilst becoming a ‘Dogs Trust Dog Friendly Ambassador’ for Yate and gaining its status as a ‘Dogs Trust Dog Friendly Clinic’, Elea’s love for animal behaviour grew, and decided to work towards gaining her Clinical Animal Behaviour certification.

A role Elea feels passionate about is helping veterinary professionals work within the patients' boundaries, making their visit to the vets as stress free as possible. Elea also has a keen interest in internal influences on behaviour, recognising early signs of behaviours as a result of chronic conditions, working with the Vet to implement treatment and management, preventing future behavioural problems.

Elea believes every animal’s emotions are valid and should never be punished for feeling a way they believe is necessary. Every animal has the right to feel safe, secure, and fear free.

Elea’s completion of her Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Animal Behaviour with Edinburgh University has allowed her to become an Associate Member with ‘The Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC)’. Elea is working towards demonstrating practical skills to become a full member with the APBC and ABTC.

Outside of work Elea spends her time with her Labrador, Reacher. They especially enjoy weekend trips to the sea for walks and swims.
