Ophthalmic Nursing

Guest speaker: Keith Simpson (Veterinary Surgeon & developer of veterinary anaesthesia and monitoring equipment)



Topics to include:
  1. Ophthalmic examination for the Veterinary nurse.
  2. Ophthalmic diagnostic testing (tonometry etc.)
  3. Nursing the ophthalmic patient.
  4. Preparing the ophthalmic patient for surgery.
  5. Anaesthetising the ophthalmic patient.
  6. The safe use of muscle blockade anaethesia in general practice
  7. Mechanical ventilators (demonstration by Mr Keith Simpson from Vetronics- http://www.vetronic.co.uk/)
  8. Anaethetic monitoring techniques (capnography, blood pressure measurment, ECG etc.)
